Krups PG70 Panini Maker, Brushed Stainless Steel Review

This is my first panini maker.We were getting sandwiches from our work cafeteria and being charged an arm and leg.I really did my research and am very happy with my purchase.I like the temperature control and shut off, the locking of the unit works great and makes it easy to move.We can grill up to 3 full size sandwiches and all have been masterpieces.The only thing I would have liked would be to remove the grids for cleaning but the cleaning is not so painful and doesn't stop me from using it.Looking forward to warm winter sandwiches.Recipe book has good ideas.Now our lunches for 3 people run under $8. It will pay for itself this winter.

Recently I had brought home a pork loin.I had done an elaborate rub and had hoped to grill it outside on the grill.However, my sister in law forgot to bring the grill and I was left in the lurch.What to do?I plugged my panini grill in and hammered the porkloin to the size of the grill.Five minutes later I was eating the most delicious pork loin I had ever had.It helped to have a digital thermometer to take the meat off at just the right moment.Now I am cooking all kinds of meat in this bad boy.Tonight it was chicken breasts.A little olive oil, salt and pepper, minutes later unbelievably delicious.

Halogen Oven by Morningware Review

I received this oven in December and since then I've cooked a 13-lb. stuffed turkey, salmon fillets, a 4-lb. chicken, a casserole of stuffing, a lemon pie, peanut butter cookies, fajita vegetables, sliced sweet potatoes, and a frozen pizza.It took some trial and error but I think this will work well for me.What I like most about it is its pristine appearance and how easily it cleans up after use and then stores away out of sight.I like the fact that the timer alerts me when it's through cooking and I can watch the progress myself through the clear plastic container.I like that it requires no preheating and doesn't heat up the kitchen.I like that I can pause and interrupt the cooking to adjust the dish or add sauce or seasoning and then reset it to a new cooking time or temperature. I'm even becoming competent at using it to reheat coffee or my cold dinner. It's important to keep the food the correct distance from the heat source, or utilize aluminum foil to slow down the browning process or to allow food to steam through.I think this is a keeper for me as I continue to experiment with it.

Progressive International Panini Press Review

This little, low-tech sandwich griller makes excellent panini and "toasted" sandwiches of all kinds, plus grills vegetables.Just put in the food, some butter or oil, close the two sides together and cook right over the burner on your stove.

This worked great on my stove's gas burner.The instructions say that it will work with electric burners too, and also over charcoal and gas outdoor grills. I found it very easy to clean because it has a non-stick surface and its modest size makes it easy to store.The price is very good, especially when compared to cumbersome, electric sandwich makers.

There is one functional problem that keeps me from awarding this product five stars, and that is the hinge mechanism that connects the two sides of the grill.In order to make it easy to clean, the sides slip apart easily.The dark side of this convenience is that the sides tend to slide apart too easily.They frequently came apart during cooking, when I turned the closed press over to grill the opposite side of my food.This was a minor hassle, but not enough of a problem to prevent me from recommending this very handy kitchen gadget.
